i found a guy at temple of balthazar whos name is Profession changer. Can this be done and how can i do it. he keeps saying i have to be closer to the stars? but i dont know what the heck that means.

I think you need to ascend the character first

The profession changer in Great Temple of Balthazar requires the character to complete Nahpui Quarter in Factions (for Closer to the Stars) or beating your Doppelganger in Prophecies (for Ascension).

or completing the primary quest, "Hunted!" in Nightfall.

They changed that. Only applies for Nightfall characters now. Factions or Prophecies characters have to be Closer to the Stars or Ascended.
